In the Dubai gallery in the coming months, an exhibition of still lifes Fernando Botero.
November 12, the Dubai gallery Custot Gallery opened an exhibition of works by the world famous Colombian artist Fernando Botero. You can get acquainted with the work of the author until February 10, 2019.
The exhibition includes thirty works from a private collection of the artist, which had not previously been presented to the public. They were created between the 1980s and 2018.
In 1956, Botero wrote his famous still life, “Still life with mandolin,” which embodies the artist’s interest in the centuries-old tradition of still life. The game of proportions and distortion of forms in this work mark a turning point in Botero's career.
In each of the thirty works exhibited in Dubai, the artist creates fantastic scenes, combining them with elements from everyday life and paying tribute to the old masters, whose work he studied as a student in Europe in the 1950s.
Fernando Botero's paintings are exhibited in leading museums from around the world, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the State Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg, the Baltimore Museum of Art and a number of European museums.
