Spanish guitarist Mauricio Diaz Alvarez will give the only concert on the stage of the Dubai Opera, as part of the Music in the Studio program. Alvarez will perform works of music by Albeniz, Villa Lobos, Ponce, Tarrega and other Latin American composers.
Mauricio Diaz Alvarez began playing the guitar at the age of eight. His fascination with the instrument was facilitated by the fact that his father was a famous guitar player in Mexico. Mauricio later recorded and toured the Mexican states with his father's quartet.
In 1991, Alvarez moved to Spain, where he studied at the Royal Music Conservatory in Madrid. Then he visited with concerts in many countries and received a number of prestigious awards. Today Alvarez is considered one of the best guitarists of our time. The musician performs both solo and accompanied by philharmonic orchestras in the best halls of the world.
