Dubai airport taxi prices down

Dubai will temporarily reduce the cost of taxis from one airport.

Dubai Taxi Corporation (DTC) will reduce the cost of taxis for passengers arriving at Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC) from April 16 to May 30, 2019. This is a response to the closure of the reconstruction of the southern runway of another airport in the emirate - Dubai International Airport (DXB).

In the specified period, the rate will be reduced by 75 percent - from 20 to 5 dirhams (from $ US 5.4 to $ US 1.36).

The DTC, which is part of the Dubai Highway and Transportation Authority (RTA), warns that taxi sharing services will also be available to passengers during these one and a half months. Yousef Mohammed Al-Ali, DTC CEO, warned that several passengers from Al-Maktoum International Airport can now share the same taxi.

Within a 45-day period, some flights from DXB will be directed to Al Maktoum International Airport. According to the operator, because of this, the number of passenger flights will increase by 700 percent over this period. Airlines will fly to the airport such as flydubai, Wizz Air, Aeroflot, Condor, Air India, Air India Express, Indigo, SpiceJet, Gulf Air, Royal Jordanian, Himalaya Airlines, Ukraine International Airlines, Nepal Airlines, Kuwait Airways, Salam Air, Mahan Air, flynas and Azur Air.
