Dubai has established innovative bus stops

Dubai is testing new bus stops with solar panels and air conditioning.

Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has launched a pilot project to install solar-powered bus stops.

Solar energy will be used to power lighting elements, air conditioners and billboards, said Mattar Al Thayer, CEO and Chairman of the RTA. The model was tested at two pilot stops.

He also said that the RTA has begun building another 48 air-conditioned stops in Dubai. The total number of objects in the city will be 884.

New stops can be found in the areas of Dubai Investment Park, Dubai Academic City - Aviation College, Higher Colleges of Technology, Dubai Industrial City, Dubai Internet City and JLT.

Over the next few months, the RTA will begin construction of another 10 facilities, each of which offers eight seats, as well as all amenities for people with special needs.
