Dubai will host a charity fashion show of wedding dresses

Dubai Ladies Club will hold a charity fashion show in May.

Dubai Ladies Club is hosting its fifth and largest annual charity fashion show this May. Funds will be used to support girls' education in developing countries.

Exhibition Designs of Hope, which will be held from May 2 to 7, will be organized in partnership with the social enterprise and online store "Brides do Good". It will feature more than 100 luxury brands and wedding dresses provided by designers, sellers, famous and ordinary people.

Dresses will be sold at a special price - from 50 to 75 percent of the initial retail prices, the organizers announced.

The event is held under the patronage of Sheikh Manal Bint Muhammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of the Dubai Women's Club and the wife of Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister of the UAE and Minister for Presidential Affairs.

The proceeds from the event will be used to support the comprehensive educational program in Ethiopia, which will be implemented in collaboration with Plan International, a humanitarian organization working in 71 countries.

The Dubai Women's Club has already received generous donations in support of its initiative. One of the designers - Rami Ali Ali - joined this exhibition by donating a wedding dress worth 100 thousand dirhams ($ US 27.2 thousand).

Everyone is invited to donate their wedding dresses to support the exhibition.

“Designs of Hope meets Dubai Ladies Club’s commitments throughout the Year of Zayed to celebrate the legacy of the UAE’s founding father, whose generosity and charitable work have influenced the lives of people around the world,” said Lamia Abdul Aziz Khan, director of the Dubai Women's Club

She added that the exhibition also reflects the efforts of Sheikh Manal and her efforts to empower all girls.

The event will feature 1,000 designer abayas and caftans, donated by 26 outstanding models and designers from the UAE, which will be sold at an exclusive price of just 1000 dirhams ($ US 272).
