UAE and Georgia Leaders Discuss Bilateral Relations

The United Arab Emirates is interested in expanding economic relations with Georgia, it was announced at a meeting of top officials of the two countries.

The leaders of the UAE and Georgia held talks on Tuesday on ways to develop bilateral relations in the fields of investment, economy and culture to achieve the interests of both countries and their peoples.

The talks in the United Arab Emirates were attended by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and George Margvelashvili, President of Georgia. The meeting was attended by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, Lieutenant General Sheikh Sayib bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the UAE with his residence in Kuwait, Roland Beridze and a number of officials from the UAE and Georgia.

The two leaders exchanged views on the latest developments in the region and around the world and emphasized that the international community should intensify its efforts to achieve peace and strengthen the concept of tolerance, dialogue and coexistence.

Sheikh Mohammed told Margvelashvili that the UAE, under the leadership of President of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, is striving to expand its relations with Georgia in the fields of politics, economy, trade, culture and tourism.

The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi emphasized the tangible development of relations between the UAE and Georgia over the past few years, especially at the economic level. He also noted that in the next few years there will be a qualitative shift in these relations. Margvelashvili emphasized the importance of friendly relations and cooperation between the UAE and Georgia and welcomed the comprehensive development of the UAE.
