IWC Boris Becker Limited Edition Elite Watch

Boris Becker, a six-time Grand Slam champion and one of the best tennis players in the world, gave his consent to the release of a limited series of nominal watches made by the leading Swiss watch company IWC Schaffhausen.

In 1985, Boris made a splash in the world of tennis - both as the youngest athlete to win Wimbledon (he was then a little over 17 years old), and as the first champion from Germany in this tournament. “It's been 20 years,” says Jean-Franco d'Atti, IWC brand manager, “since this talented tennis player won his first Grand Slam tournament. We decided to mark the anniversary of this event with the launch of our signature series of luxury timepieces.”

The result of IWC is a stainless steel watch, which will be distributed around the world with a circulation of only 250 items. They are decorated with the image of the champion, engraved on the back wall of the case. In raised hands, a tennis player holds a racket and a ball. The portrait is framed by the English inscription "Boris Becker. Victory in Wimbledon 1985". The dark green dial and the corresponding crocodile leather strap, according to the developers, are associated with the juicy lawns of that legendary match.
