New bus route launched between Abu Dhabi and Sharjah

Sharjah Transport Corporation has launched a new bus route between the emirates of Abu Dhabi and Sharjah. The implementation of bus communication over a distance of 145 km became possible after the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Sharjah Transport Corporation and the Abu Dhabi Department of Transportation.

According to information from Sharjah Intercity Transport Director Adel Khalil, there will be 15 flights a day between the two emirates, starting from the Al Jubail Bus Station stop located near the Sharjah Fish Market, and ending with the final stop at the main bus station in Abu Dhabi located on Defense Road .

Passengers will be transported by seven comfortable spacious buses with 49 seats each. The fare in any direction is 30 dirhams (US $ 8.1). Buses will depart every hour from 7:30 to 21:30.

Adel Khalil also said that Sharjah Transport Corporation plans to launch 16 more new bus routes in this emirate to cover all its areas. Buses have already been launched this year to areas such as Sonapur, Sagah Industrial Zone, Sharjah International Airport and Dubai's Rashidiya Metro Station. Every year, Sharjah intercity services more than six million passengers and makes 250 trips per day.
