Dubai's minimum parking fee doubles

The minimum fee for using municipal parking lots in Dubai, since mid-March, has doubled and now amounts to 2 dirhams instead of the usual 1 dirhams. The increase in fees for the use of parking spaces during the first hour of parking affected almost all areas of Dubai, primarily those where the number of vehicles is always large. In areas where 2 dirhams were charged for the first hour and earlier, the fee will remain unchanged. Thus, the minimum 2 dirhams will now be levied on almost 90% of Dubai's municipal parking lots. According to the Dubai Roads & Transport Authority (RTA), the process of programming parking machines for the new tariff is ongoing, and many machines still continue to charge 1 dirham, although the text information on them has already been changed. All parking machines will soon be set up in a new way. The increase in the minimum parking rate was made possible after the adoption of the full law "On Parking", which provides for unified tariffs at all municipal parking lots for cars.
