Russian students studying at the American University of the Emirate of Sharjah took part in the "Club Fair 2010"

Sharjah American University is interesting today not only for its excellent education, but also for the fact that this university has a rich student life. Numerous clubs and organizations working at the university can boast of solid sponsor support not only from the leadership of the university, but also from various private companies. To date, the number of student clubs and youth communities at this university has exceeded 75. One of the most active is the Russian Cultural Club (RKK), which has been existing for more than a year, which is the first youth organization in the UAE created by Russian compatriots abroad.

This youth organization has repeatedly represented its country in a variety of public events. By tradition, the main venue for RKK's educational activities is the Club Fair, which is held at the University of Sharjah every year at the beginning of the first semester. The current Club Fair, which started on October 12, 2010, has gathered a large number of both participating clubs, which totaled more than 60, and visitors. Each club, as always, presented its activities at a separate stand, designed in accordance with the nature and directions of work. Visitors to the fair were able to appreciate the creative approach to the design of each stand, the national music of each country, and, of course, traditional treats. It is worth noting that for the student organizations themselves, all of the above factors are in fact not paramount. The main goal of this club marathon is to attract attention and register new club members, replenish its membership, conduct a short excursion into the club’s plans for the future, etc. Informally, for the entire Club Fair university community, this is the start of a new school year , but not from the point of view of the educational process, but from the social and social side. Usually, after the next "Club Fair" the university begins to live an active life, a lot of new events, interesting meetings and events take place in it.

This year, the Russian Cultural Club decided to diversify the exposition of its booth and to dedicate it to the formation and development of Islam in Russia. As you know, in Russia the official date of adoption of Islam is May 21, 922. RKK decided to remind young children from different countries of the world about the universal tolerance and tolerance of peoples, about different religions and worldviews, about cultural and religious differences. This topic was not chosen by chance, because one of the goals of the Russian Cultural Club is to comprehensively popularize the culture of the peoples inhabiting the territory of modern Russia, their traditions and customs. In its activities, the club focuses on a complete and reliable representation of Russia as a multinational and multiconfessional state.

The stand of the Russian Cultural Club was painted in the national tricolor of our country. The thematic photo exhibition made it possible to get acquainted with the life of Muslims in Russia. Here were presented photographs of the largest mosques in Europe located in the cities of Grozny and Kazan, as well as photographs of mosques in Moscow and St. Petersburg. The fact that more than 20 million Muslims live on the territory of the Russian Federation today has aroused great interest among many visitors to the fair. An additional confirmation of this was the book on the meeting of the Organization of Islamic Capitals and Cities in Kazan in 2009, released in English and Arabic, telling that people of different nationalities live in Russia, one of the largest countries in the world, in peace and harmony. and religions that are tolerant and friendly to each other. It is pleasant to note that not only ordinary visitors, but also honored guests of the event appreciated the theme of the RKK stand. The rector of the Sharjah American University, Mr. Peter Hiss, and other university leaders listened attentively to the presentation of the Russian Cultural Club, which was held by the event coordinator Ivan Znamensky. After that, Mr. Hiss thanked the Club Council for the interesting information presented at the stand, and showed interest in the experience of Russia as one of the most tolerant countries in the world. And, finally, all the guests were offered dishes of national cuisines of the peoples of Russia. Fresh pastries and other treats provided by the Kazan restaurant were literally in great demand. The guests with pleasure tasted the Tatar pies - "triangles" with meat and potatoes, "stir" and apple pies. Honestly, no other club could boast such a delicious and varied assortment of dishes of national cuisine. Summing up the results of the fair, the Russian Cultural Club considered the start of the academic year to be very successful. During the work of the "Club Fair" 150 new members appeared in the club, which means that student life this year will be even more active and eventful. In conclusion, the RKK Council thanked its sponsors who provided support for the successful participation in the event: their general media partner was the Russian Emirates Publishing House, the Kazan Restaurant and personally its director Ravzu Kalyamovna Bikmanova, the head of Dan Real Estate Agency Ismagil Kalyamovich Shangareev , the city hall of Kazan.
