The city with an artificial climate will appear in Dubai

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, vice president, prime minister of the UAE and ruler of Dubai, announced the start of the construction of the unique Mall of the World project. The star of the project, which is a city with an artificial climate in which there will be no cars, will be the largest shopping center in the world. In addition to it, it will house the largest indoor park and resort area.

Advanced technologies and thoughtful design will provide residents and visitors of this oasis with comfortable conditions regardless of the weather. A project of this scale will be created in several stages, in accordance with the growth rate of the number of tourists, whose entertainment it is mainly designed for. The artificial microclimate will be maintained inside this city only during the hot season, and in the cooler months its guests will be able to enjoy the open sky, the sun, the wind and rare rains thanks to the opening transparent dome.

Dubai will add one more to its impressive list of records - the area of ​​the city will be almost 4.5 million square meters. m, and the area of ​​the shopping center - 743,225 square meters. m. In addition to the amusement park and resort area, there will be medical institutions for medical tourists, hotels for 20 thousand rooms and a center for various cultural events for 15 thousand people. The total number of guests and visitors to the town after its completion will be 180 million annually. The length of the covered streets is 7 km. Underground parking will be designed for 50 thousand cars.

Inside the city, ordinary vehicles will be banned, moving around its territory will be possible only on environmentally friendly modes of transport, including by tram. When creating the project, the latest energy and water saving technologies will be used, the complex will provide part of its electricity needs through solar panels.

For the first time, plans to create this unique facility were announced a year and a half ago. Now the plans have been translated into a project. The timing of the start and completion of construction, as well as the cost of the project were not disclosed.
