Russian developer of flying police bike in Dubai introduced a flying taxi

Russian manufacturers of hoverbikes, which became part of the Dubai police fleet, introduced flying taxis.

The Russian company Hoversurf, which developed the Hoverbike flying bike for the Dubai police, introduced the five-seat Formula flying taxi, which can also fly into the emirate’s sky already in 2018.

Folding wings allow taxis to stop at ordinary parking spaces. At the heart of the device are 52 miniature Turburi turbine engines.

Developers say Formula will be safer than ground transportation and help alleviate traffic jams.

Introduced in October at the Gitex, the hoverbike combines the technology of an unmanned aerial vehicle with a motorcycle and can be controlled both by a policeman behind the wheel and remotely. Four large propellers allow him to fly at a height of 5 meters with a driver.

Currently, there is an “international arms race” to provide Dubai with the first commercial unmanned aerial vehicle.

In February, Ehang from China announced that it hopes its version of a flying taxi will be launched by the end of this year. Ehang 184 has a top speed of about 100 km / h, and the maximum battery life is about half an hour.
