Trusted by local police

Representatives of more than 170 nationalities live in Dubai. The overwhelming majority of residents of the emirate are satisfied with the state of security and the internal order provided by the local police.
The chief of the Dubai police, divisional general Dahi Halfan Tamim, said at a public meeting that the police conducted a survey among 2,252 indigenous and foreign residents in the emirate. More than 84% of respondents expressed satisfaction with the security situation and said they trusted the local police. Almost 83% of respondents said they did not feel any concern.
General Tamim, distinguished by the balanced nature of his official views and political positions, said that with the development of Dubai, the local police apparatus will develop in a direction different from the traditional one. Local police should be more likely to be public relations specialists than prosaic law enforcement officers.
According to the Minister of Internal Affairs of the UAE, Sheikh Seif bin Zayed, the demographic map of the country is richer than Dubai. Representatives of 184 nationalities live in the country. Up to 100 local police officers go to study in Germany annually. The first women's police unit was created in 1987. More than 30 women have officer ranks.
